The Callaway Fusion FT-3 is a big, lightweight, strong carbon composite body and forged titanim face - fused to create the most advanced internal weighting technology ever achieved in a driver.
Personal Review:
I find it odd that some people are having issues hitting this driver. I have played Callaway clubs since I started playing golf and I have owned most everything they’ve made in recent history. I started out with the Big Bertha Warbird, moved to the Great Big Bertha, moved to the Great Big Bertha II, moved to the Hawkeye VFT, moved to the Big Bertha 454 Ti and now the Fusion FT-3. The FT-3 is, without question, the best driver I have ever played. I regularly play the Callaway HX Tour and HX Hot balls and with the Hot’s, the ball will simply fly off the club face. The sound of this driver is one of the things I like most about it. It sounds like a corked bat. There is a solid, thick wack when you hit it on the screws and when I do, watch out. I have consistently hit 280 to 310 yd drives with this driver. On a nicely sloped fairway, it’s going 330.
My advice is to get the neutral bias as you do not want to learn to hit with a driver that is biased for draw’s and fade’s. Learn the right swing plane and swing structure and this driver will blow you away. My father is 60 yrs old and loves to hit my driver when we play together. He gets an additional 25 on most drives. My wife, who is 5’2”, and 105 lbs, also loves this driver and insists on swinging it on almost every hole regardless of the fact that the shaft is way too long for her. She consistently puts it in the middle of the fairway. It’s pretty forgiving on miss hits with most of mine going higher and shorter rather than off to the left or right.
After some time with it, you can most certainly work this driver if you have the ability to do so with other drivers, it just takes some getting used to.I keep this and my Big Bertha 454 in my bag at all times and 99% of the time I reach for the FT-3. I will still hit my 454 when I want to really fade it hard. I am sending my FT-3 off this week to have the new Graffaloy Epic shaft installed. I cannot wait to get it back.
